14 things I love about my hubby.

Yes. A soppy, smushy post for feb 14! We actually don't celebrate Valentines day. We actually went on a date last night to avoid the crowds. Personal beliefs and the commercialisation of love is just mmeehhh. Buy me roses any other day, they are such a rip off today! Jokes and sarcasm aside, we love each other, for so many reasons. Here are just 14.

1. He makes me laugh and he lets me laugh at him. I like how he doesn't take himself so seriously. And really I think all women agree that humour in a man is so attractive. Funnily enough I wouldn't consider him to be a funny, joker type of guys but it's the little things he does as says when he isnt even trying to be funny that get me.

2. He has passion. Ok so his passion is fishing but when he catches a big one or even when he's trying out some new fishing knots, the focus and concentration and dedication on his face is endearing. Now if we could just shift that passion towards vacuuming and folding laundry...

3. He doesn't follow the crowd. He pretty much does what he wants and doesn't look around to see what everyone else is up to.

4. He stays true to himself. Similar to previous point above, he doesn't change for anyone. At first that can sound like being stubborn and like a bad thing. But that conviction in himself and what he stands for is impressive.

5. He has dreams. Big dreams. Which not everyone is supportive of. He has never scoffed at my dreams (as ridiculous as they are) so why should I scoff st his.

6. He values my opinion. "What do you think babe?" Says it all the time. i sometimes read this as insecurity on his behalf on his own judgment, but i know that he values my opinion and what I bring to the table.

7. He loves hugs! It took some getting used to because I didnt grow up in a "huggy" family. And I dont always want a hug while I'm washing dishes or brushing my teeth but I'm sure it could be far worse.

8. He needs me. I know it's nice when a man can stand on two feet and take over the world with his barehands but it's also nice to feel needed. Everyday i get that odd question that would drive other woman up the wall like "where are my socks/glasses/pjs?" "babe I forgot what settings to use on the washing machine." "Whats my pin number for the atm again?" It took some getting used to but I realise that he just needs me. Sometimes it's annoying but most times it feels nice.
9. He doesnt complain about my cooking. He did once 2 days after we got married and he knew never to do that ever again. I explained to him that it's not my job to cook so the fact that I do means that each meal is special and I cook with my heart, so just eat it! Haha my cooking switches from basic standard boring repeated meals to way out there weird experimental ingredients. Nothing in between. Either way he eats my food and says its yummy. Couldn't ask for more.

10. He doesn't question when I go shopping. I love to shop. Who doesn't?  My husband knows I like to shop so he doesnt ask questions. The same goes for me and his fishing. He loves it and I know it makes him happy. If we don't want happiness for our partners than what do we want?

11. We like the same type of tv shows, music and movies. Because of this we never fight over the tv, the radio and what movie to watch. Thats one less battle to deal with.

12. He thinks I'm pretty and tells me all the time. He has awful eyesight (which says a lot about this point). i'm talking -3 in one eye. I mean I like to wear makeup and sometimes I wear a bit too much and he loves the au naturale look. one evening I will never forget is when I went to the bathroom and washed my makeup off and did my nightime skin care routine and walked out of the bathroom with no makeup on and THATS when he tells me "wow you look beautiful" *gush*.

13. He is the fun parent. I kind of wish I was the fun parent. But seeing the way the girls laugh and squeal with joy when daddy announces there is a dance party in the living room with DJ daddy, well I really couldn't ask for more.

14. He helps around the house. Don't worry this is a recent phenomenon. It's taken a decade of perseverance but he helps, he offers to help and what woman wouldn't love that!

Well that wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. I will refer him to him to this post if he ever asks me why I love him. Hope your weekend is filled with love, romantic or not.
